This Saturday, November 25, 2023, is Small Business Saturday – a special day to support small businesses and celebrate what they mean to our communities.
Small businesses are the bedrock of our communities and the foundation for thriving local economies — and they need all of our support as they navigate America’s growing markets.
At the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), we are supporting small businesses through the Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) not only today, but every day.
DOE recently crossed the $10 billion milestone in small business awards, an increase of a billion dollars from the previous year, and we’re continuing our work to ensure women-owned small businesses, small disadvantaged businesses, service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses, HUBZone small businesses, and traditionally underserved entrepreneurs have broad and equitable access to opportunities. From research and development projects to contracting awards, DOE offers a wide range of opportunities to support small businesses to drive clean energy innovation forward in every pocket of the country.
Recently, DOE earned an “A” grade on its Fiscal Year (FY) 2022 Small Business Procurement Scorecard from the U.S. Small Business Administration.
We’re committed to advancing equity in procurement and expanding opportunities for underserved and overlooked communities through ongoing initiatives. Through OSDBU, we’re empowering small businesses looking to partner with DOE with the Small Business Toolbox. This kit provides insight into federal acquisition, Doing Business with DOE, and more.
